Sole representative for the sunstone water group in Ghana and West Africa

Tailored Wastewater Treatment Solutions

Sunstone Water Group is an international company located in Denmark with production, sales and distribution of wastewater treatment systems in the US, Europe and Africa. The philosophy behind Sunstone Water Group’s solutions is to purify the wastewater near the location where it is produced.
Decentralised purification has the benefits of reducing the need for treatment in public waste water facilities. It also provides both financial as well as environmental benefits for companies that use substantial amounts of water by using recycled treated wastewater in place of potable water for activities such as irrigation and watering of landscape areas.

Free Assessment of Existing Wastewater Treatment and Disposal Process

BOSATE Group Ltd provides a customized, stand-alone, free of charge, assessment of your existing wastewater treatment and disposal process.

How Can BOSATE Help Address
Non-Compliance of Your Treatment Process?

Based on our free assessment of your wastewater treatment and disposal process, if your system is found to be non-compliant with EPA discharge standards; or the system has insufficient capacity to treat the current (or future) volume of wastewater generated:

We can provide you with a proposal for a customized, fit for purpose Sunstone biological wastewater treatment system
The new system can either be installed within your existing septic tank (retrofitted) or in a new purpose-built structure at or near your facility.

The Sunstone systems have the advantage of having a minimal environmental and physical footprint. The treated wastewater can be reused or safely discharged into the public drainage system, stream or other nearby approved locations fully meeting all EPA standards and regulations.

How Does The Sunstone’s Biological Wastewater
Treatment System Work?

Sunstone’s fully automated self-cleaning biological wastewater treatment systems are designed based on the ‘fixed-film principle’ using Submerged Aerated Filters (SAF) reactor units for the treatment of domestic and industrial wastewater and utilizing automatic airlift pumps for the recirculation of biological sludge. The main steps in the treatment process are shown below:

1

WASTEWATER INLET

Untreated wastewater from the building enters the Septic Tank.
2

SEPTIC TANK

In the Septic Tank solids within the wastewater (which enters through the inlet) sink to the bottom and undergo bacterial digestion. This reduces the quantity of solids and also changes its composition to sludge, which builds up in the bottom of the tank. Materials such as grease and oil float to the surface in the tanks to form a crust over the liquid
3

BUFFER TANK

The buffer tank evens out fluctuating volumes of wastewater

BIOLOGICAL TREATMENT CHAMBERS

In these chambers micro-organisms perform degradation of the organic load in the incoming wastewater to meet the EPA discharge levels. High performance polyethylene media with high specific surface area divided into tanks-in-series that allow wastewater to be contacted with the fully submerged media in the presence of air, simultaneously.
Air (supplied by blowers) is introduced to the treatment process via fine bubble membrane diffusers below the media to make ideal conditions for bacteria to consume impurities in the wastewater. Through this process, a sustainable biomass concentration is maintained, which continues to break down all incoming waste.
From the biological zones the bio-sludge is transferred to the Sludge Pit by means of the Air Lift Pumps.

INSTALLATION DATE:

February 2023

PROJECT OVERVIEW:

In February 2023, Sunstone Ghana (in partnership with the Bosate Group Ltd) completed two separate biological sewerage treatment plants of 12 m3 and 24 m3 capacity each consisting of biological reactors, control boxes with SMS alarm, air systems, blowers, piping valves, water supply pipes, float switches and a submersible wastewater outlet pump. The installation took less than one week to complete.

Air Ghana, along with the Ghana Airport Company, built the Ghana Airport Cargo Center in 2016. When we did this project, there was no sewerage line coming into the building and we were forced to put in a soak away system. We were hoping with time that there would be a sewerage system we could connect to. However, that has not come to be. As we all know, central treatment plants are very expensive and on top of that, the treatment plant here at the airport is at full capacity. We were left with very few options so we reached out to the Sunstone Group, who came highly recommended, and they showed us a system that would treat all the sewerage to a standard that would meet and even exceed EPA standards so we can discharge it into the city drains. In the future, we would also have the option to reuse the water in our building or for irrigation and gardening purposes.
